Please note the following information pertaining to local 4-H programs.
South Central 6 Animal Science Day
This annual event will be held at the Nuckolls County Fairgrounds in Nelson on Wednesday, May 28. The morning session starts at 10:00am and includes a poultry clinic followed by a Poultry Judging Contest right after dinner. Then there will be a Grooming amd Showmanship Clinic for beef, sheep, swine and goats starting at 2:30pm. The evening session will start at 5:00 with registration for the Livestock Judging Contest which will then begin at 5:15pm. You can attend any or all of the Animal Science Day. I will be in attendance and hope to see you all there!
Armed Forces Day
Webster County 4-H and FFA youth have been asked once again participate at the 2008 Armed Forces Day celebration on Saturday night, May 17. It will be at the Webster County Fairgrounds Rodeo Arena. We will need a bunch of 4-H and FFA youth to hold a large American Flag during the ceremonies. please call our office or contact your local FFA Advisor if you are interested in helping us honor our service men.
Pop Tabs for ronald McDonald House
A Southeast District community service project of colleccting pop tabs, soup can tabs, and other tabs on aluminum cans for the Ronald McDonld House has begun. Pop tabs may be turned into our office and we will deliver them to the district office. The Ronald McDonald House Pop Tab Collection Program was established in 1987 by the Minneapolis/St.Paul Ronald McDonald House community and to date more than 400 million pop tabs have been collected, generating more then $4 million.
